Square obtains ISO 9001 and 27001 certification

Continuous development is an important priority for Square. We attach great value to the quality of our products and services. In order to offer our customers the best possible service and to continue to be able to supply high-quality products, we devote significant attention to the development of our business processes. With the aim to reveal which areas offer growth opportunities and to obtain an independent opinion on our management system, a certification process was initiated at the beginning of 2016. We are proud to announce that, at the end of 2016, this led to a double certification for both ISO 9001 and ISO 27001!

Obtaining these certificates is the result of positive assessments in two different areas. Certification in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 relates to the guaranteed quality of products and services supplied and assurance with respect to the continuity of the organization as a whole. ISO 27001:2013 assesses the systems and processes that guarantee the security of information. Information security is a theme that is of particular importance to Square. We have paid attention to this topic for many years and have decided to place extra emphasis on this area in view of the increase in the supply of online services.

Significant attention was devoted to the certification process in 2016. Every procedure was thoroughly assessed and adapted where necessary. Throughout the year, critical questions were posed in relation to daily processes. From the start, increased awareness resulted in structural improvements and we are continuing to further improve and optimize matters.

The aim of the certification is to ensure that we continually seek to identify possibilities to improve the quality of our products and services. The results to which this could lead include new functionality in existing products, improved efficiency or the development of completely new products. Recurring audits will keep us focused on continued improvement in the future. This is to the benefit of Square and, in particular, to valued customers and partners like you.
